In April of 1949, I was adopted by two loving parents, who raised me as their own, loved and nurtured me and gave me a good upbringing and sense of values. Unfortunately, they both passed away in 1999. I still miss them very much.

I was born Terrence Lloyd Jorginson on April 18th, 1949 in the Calgary General Hospital. I put up for adoption by my 17 year old birth mother, Elsie, who was not married to my biological father, Ted.

I am seeking information about either of my birth parents, their families or survivors. I am curious about my background and extended family. It would be nice to share notes and learn about my history. It would be great to connect with my birth family.

I would love to learn more about my background. If my birth mother is still alive; I would love to tell her she did the right thing in giving me up. I was given a wonderful godly set of adoptive parents, who taught me how to live and contribute to my community.

Evidently, my birth mother came from a large family, so there is a good chance some of my aunts or uncles and certainly cousins would still be around. I would love to connect and find out about their lives. I have very little information about my biological father at this time.

Born: 6/4/1932 in Selkirk Manitoba
5’-0”, 106 lbs, fair complexion, light brown hair, blue-green eyes
Lived at one time at: 522 7th Ave. East, Calgary
Nationality: Scottish Canadian
Worked as a waitress, telegraph girl
United Church
Left school at 15 – completed grade 8
Her family… father (foreman) who was 37 in 1949
Mother also 37 in 1949
3 brothers (18, 16, 12) and 5 sisters (20, 14, 10, 4, 7 months) in 1949

Edward (Ted) Hughes, who was 23 in 1949
Protestant
English Canadian
Worked as a Taxi driver
Completed grade 10
5’ - 4.5”, 125 lbs, average build, fair complexion,
blonde wavy hair, blue eyes
